There are
several reasons why your Public Housing lease may be terminated.
Termination by
Tenant
The family may
terminate the lease at any time, for any reason, by submitting a written thirty
day notice signed by the Head of Household in person or by mail.
Mandatory
Terminations by OHA:
HUD requires
OHA to terminate the lease under the following circumstances:
- Failure to
provide required reexamination documentation
- Failure to
accept OHA’s offer of a revised lease
- Manufacturing
or production of methamphetamine on the premises of federally assisted housing
- Member of
the household is lifetime registered sex offender
- Failure to
comply with the community service requirement
- Death of a
single person household
Other Good
Causes for Terminations include but is not limited to:
- Drugs,
violent and criminal activity
- Non-compliance
with lease terms
- Unauthorized
occupants
- Threat to
other residents
