Conventional Public Housing

The Oakland Housing Authority owns and operates 3,308 units of Conventional Public Housing within the City of Oakland; 12 large developments (7 family sites and 5 senior sites) with the balance scattered among 255 sites.

To qualify for the Oakland Housing Authority’s Conventional Public Housing program, applicant households must not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for the Oakland metropolitan area. Current program income limits.

Landlord references and criminal background checks are required for all adult family members, prior to being accepted for the program.
